Candle Care Guide

To help your candle burn beautifully and safely, follow these simple care tips.

Candles in Glass Containers

✂️

Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to 5–7 mm.

A properly trimmed wick helps your candle burn evenly, reduces soot, and creates a cleaner, steadier flame.

🕯️

Let the Wax Melt Evenly

The first burn is the most important.

Allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the container before extinguishing the flame. This helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's life.

🌬️

Keep Away from Drafts

Burn your candle away from open windows, fans, or air vents.

Moving air can cause the flame to flicker, leading to uneven burning and excess soot.

Burn for 3–4 Hours

For the best performance, burn your candle for no more than 3–4 hours at a time.

Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from flammable materials such as curtains, paper, and decorations.
  • Keep the wax free from matches, wick trimmings, or other debris.
  • Discontinue use when approximately 1 cm (½ inch) of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Storage

Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to help preserve its appearance.

🕯️

Always Use a Candle Plate

Decorative candles should always be burned on a heat-resistant candle plate or tray large enough to catch any melted wax.

As the candle burns, wax may naturally drip or flow beyond the original shape.

✂️

Trim the Wick

Trim the wick to 5–7 mm (¼ inch) before every burn.

This helps create a cleaner, more even flame.

🌬️

Keep Away from Drafts

Avoid burning near open windows, fans, or air vents, as moving air can cause uneven burning and dripping.

Burn in Short Sessions

Burn your decorative candle for 2–3 hours at a time, then allow it to cool completely before relighting.

Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Burn only on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from flammable materials.
  • Never move a burning candle.
  • Extinguish the flame before the candle burns too close to the surface beneath it.

Storage

Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to help preserve its colour and shape.
